Yes, I am from Chesterville originally.  My parents still live there and I am back that way on a monthly basis.  My brother and sister went to 'Maple Ridge' school, this new location.  The spot is ideal for RCO in a lot of ways.  If guys give it a chance, they might like a lot about it.  You pass a Tim Hortons in Winchester along the way, so civilization is not far off ;D. I don't think there are any delivery food services however.  There is also a Subway in Winchester at a local gas bar.

We still have a few details to iron out but the Maple Ridge center will also be providing a concession stand of some description (what will be available is still to be confirmed). The folks at the center are very willing to help us settle in and to grow our activity.

It's about the same time for me as SAR, just in the opposite direction.  Very cool that you got a place so quick!  I hope it works out well, as I think you'll get more guys from south and east now.  It's also pretty convenient to get to from the 401 for the western guys.

Looking forward to hearing more details!

Have driven by this spot often on the way to the Vets office in Avonmore.  Nice easy drive from Barrhaven.  Take 416 to Kempville exit and then take RR43 to old 31(Timmies fill up if you want) and a short jog on 31 then back on 43.  Should be a great spot.

Cool location. I went to school at maple ridge (grades 7 and 8). The stage would be a perfect driver's stand. Lots of parking. Easy to locate and very accessible from the major centres.

Probably a stupid question (again)..,.being new to the sport, do off-road cars every put on indoor tires and race the on road course? I love the off-road track in Greely but really struggle on getting out because of my work schedule. I see that off road is mainly on weekends, which is a much better fit. Anyway, just asking.

You could find some tires that will fit.
But on road and off road are two different animals that don't get along at all. = )

Being heavier and beefier I guess an off road car will be a hazard sharing the same track with on road models.

But you can get your feet wet on onroad. They use to have a loaner car that you can practice and race for a weekend. Mihai and the guys can confirm that and give more info, as I don't race onroad...

We are trying to keep the events On road specific since it is a one day type event now with practice and race day in one. Having said that we do currently have one Club loaner car and the possibility that I may have another one in the works as well. The Maple Ridge center is very interested in the potential for developing and outdoor RC track as well and I would invite those involved in OFF Road to get involved if you are interested in helping the MRC folks develop such a facility. There is huge potential for hosting OFF road events at this facility in the summer months!!!

The track is typically pretty simple....mostly stays the same throughout the season (at least until new track parts are built  ;)

I have photo but can't seem to post it at the moment.... I will figure it out and update... 8)
