That's great news, I'll have a new racer out with me, my son Aidan, and we plan to run every weekend we can.

No exact dates were mentioned yet of the DT 3.0 closing date. I just know they will be closing around spring time when motocross season starts said KT$ when I asked.

Standard pro4 racing rules. 2 cell battery limit. Tires made for short course. Use a short course body.

You planning to join us ?

I have my Pro4 truck ready to go. My favorite class  ;D

I'm looking to join the weekend racing but not sure which class would be friendly for two novice off-road driver. I'm leaning towards 2wd buggy or 2wd sct. Durability will be key as one of the driver is fairly young and still grasping the hobby. I have not bought anything yet so any suggestions would be helpful.

Honestly both are very durable. And my bias is towards 2wd buggy. Starting out either is great. But I feel 2wd is better for teaching new drivers how to drive without smashing into others.. and it's a popular class indoors outdoors and club to club..

I'm worry that it would be too difficult that the younger one will lose interest. With that said, one of my goal is for him to learn some patience.

I'm not looking to win but my goal is to keep him interested and aim to improve his eye hand coordination and participate in a competitive environment.

I'm guessing the most popular buggy would be TLR22 and B5/B6D?

2wd buggy is the way to go ... 2wd SC is pretty dead everywhere.
Lots of young guys running 2wd bugs as well.

As far as brand goes you will get a variety of answers but I would say the B5 from AE or the KR from Schumacher are about your 2 best options for GFX.

I will have my 9 year old son running an Associated B5 rear motor with a 17.5 in blinky mode geared 69/30.  For what it's worth, I'll also run a B5 rear motor, but I'll run it with an 8.5.  I know another father/son combo who are also running rear motor B5's. Check out FB Canadian RC Traders, there are 2-3 B5 rear motors for good prices.  It's a relaxed atmosphere and a forgiving track that a younger driver can learn on.  Come race with us!
