New people welcome ?
« on: June 29, 2017, 03:33:46 PM »
Hey everyone,
First post here.
I've been a basher for about a year or so now. I own 3 - 1/10 trucks. An Ecx Circuit, Ecx Amp buggy, and a Team Durango Dx2e buggy (currently just a rollar). I've never driven on a track and would probly only want to practice around and meet people more into the hobby for awhile. I'm just wondering if any of these trucks would be acceptable here, and if or not you guys welcome new poeple. All my trucks are highly modified brushless ofcourse. I'm not the most skilled driver or knowlagable, kind of learned as I went, melted esc's.. stripped gears.. snapped parts, all that stuff. Most days I'm just a lonely basher as I only know 2 other guys with trucks.
Thanks
Bryan

Hey Bryan,

We were all new once... my son and I are becoming the "not so new guys" (2nd year) but I still remember walking into the track and not knowing anyone. By all means, come on out.  Practices are $10 and run Friday nights from about 5pm - 11pm.  Watch the forum sticky post for updates based on weather as it has been cancelled for tomorrow because of rain.

We typically run 1/10 2&4wd, 1/10 4wd SCT and 1/8 e-buggy (no nitro).  A quick look online at your RC's and it seems they are 1/10 scale and an 1/8 ebuggy, so ya, I'd say you are all good. Driving on a dedicated rc track is very different than just bashing.... for us it was a lot more fun  8)

Once you come out a few times I am sure we'll get you into the racing as well  ;D

See you at the track,
Brian.

Cool thanks !
Ill have to come check it out. My mistake it's a
-Team Durango dx210, 10th scale brushless buggy is my 3rd car, probably the only true racing car I have. The other 2 running in practice will probably be me jacking up the old spectrum avc and hoping for the best lol.

Sounds good.

Not sure what version it is, but I am pretty sure one of the guys at the track drives a dex210 setup in rear motor... he wins the A-main whenever he comes out ;) so I think you'll be fine!

Oh okay.. ill have to drop a motor in it to get it running, my 3 options that I have on hand are, castle 3800kv sct, skyrc 8.5t sensored, or speed passion 13.5t sensored. I also setup my dx210 as mid-motor.. is this bad ?.. racing seems require alot of knowledge I don't have  :(

One driver ran mid-motor last year and did well.  I think all of us are running rear-motor at the moment though. If you want to just get going, drop the 13.5t in and come out and run it.  You can use the 8.5t motor if you want and just turn down the EPA on your transmitter if its too much power.  After you can also convert it to rear-motor (I think those came with all the conversion parts??) if you want more traction.

For the record, in 2wd we all run 8.5T motors but you can then swap to the 8.5T as you get more comfortable running on the track.

Above all though bring what you have and just come out to the track.  There are other guys there that know a lot more than I do !

Here is a video so you can get an idea of the track:

Yes there are pit spots setup with tables and power.  I suggest bringing an extension cord if you have one as not all of the tables have power right at it.

You can run anything you want on fridays at practice. If you want to race and you have a car that doesnt fit in a class, we're trying to get into a 4Fun class, so anything is aloud. All you need is a transponder.
