Looking at transponders... anyone know if the new MYLAPS RC4 unit (supposed to be the old AMB company) will work with our setup?

I like the fact that they have a clip that can stay with the vehicle and it makes it easy to swtitch between cars...

http://www.mylaps.com/index.php/us_eng/Websites/B2C/rc/shop/the_new_standard_rc4

That's exactly what I got.
Works fine.

I just picked up a Traxxas Slash and need to convert it to a 13.5 still to keep up and not all too fond of the extra equip i need now.  Im guessing i need a 3ch system for this?  also if the house is getting rid of theirs are they worth picking up myself to use or am I better off with a new one?  I have dropped a hobby for this one and hope to meet new friends so i know startup costs qsite well

You do not require 3ch to run a pt. It will Power off your 2ch bat plug

You can run the stock motor/esc for a while too as well, once you get a transponder you'll be good for a while until you want to upgrade to brushless. I have a feeling you want to upgrade more then you need to ;D

I have a TL-01 and ran a 15t Venom till a winding blew and the speed was kinda addicting.  But the Slash Titan motor is kinda slow on the go compared to the TL.  I may pick up a newer motor as this one is kinda old and fix up the gearbox a bit.

Ah ok so the PT just plugs into the rx box..

How much are the transponder at DH saw the AMB at another store for 120$ and not in stock.

Are the MRT ones compatible with every AMB boxes and software not going to be racing just at Dirtraxx.

I you guys decide to sell your house transponders let MODRC know ours are failling also and are the first version.

We are looking into a new decoder box but new ones are crazy expensive so if you hear of a club selling a used one let us know thanks.

I am waiting for them to come in at DH. Is this something that can be borrowed or rented? Wednesday will be my first race. Thanks for any info you can provide.

So does that mean that you need a transponder for each rig or can you swap it between races?

You can swap between races. A few guys do that using a Velcro or zip tie
