I really wanna try those tires out. Do you know if they are available after market?

You can order them as parts from Venom http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=VEN-8300GR, you can even order them with the foam inserts.  They had problems with them splitting on the seam so their stock may be low from providing replacements.

I got some HB Rovers and Steph and I went to compare them at Petrie Island.  He added weights to his stock tires whereas I had none and didn't modify the foams that came with the Rovers either.

Bottom line is, the stockers suck and the Rovers Rock!  The Rovers have way more traction and the extra ground clearance helps too.  However with the extra traction my torque twist is worse so I was rolling more easily than Steph, so I'll have to work on that now.  I'll relocate the top shock mounts, the upper suspension arms at the axle, and add weights to the wheels.

Steph got the Hammers, he plans on being at the comp this Thursday but I can't make it.  Hopefully I'll make it to the outdoor comp.

Ryan, you can have my old tires for free ;)

Here's some updates on mods.  They're old but I figured I'd post them here for completeness.

The boatsides were the first mod I did, I had them on before taking it out to Greber for the first time.  They're just some aluminum I had laying around that were the right width.  They really helped to protect the body and to slide over the rocks instead of hanging on the body posts.  They also protect the locker servos.

The original shocks often leaked and popped the caps, so I ended getting some Losi shocks and fabbing some new brackets to place them more vertical.  I also created a shelf with the rear ones for the receiver.

One of the big problems with the early Creepers is the near square edges on the tranny and getting hung up.  In the summer I finally got around to building a steel skidplate.  It's from a piece of ventilation duct and is galvanized.  Very easy to cut and shape, and slides pretty good.  Others have used delrin but this is much thinner and doesn't effect ground clearance.
