Maximum OverDrive R/C Cornwall
« on: February 01, 2010, 10:07:25 AM »
There is a new race track located in Cornwall, Ontario. It incorporates a banked oval track and an off road track with jumps. There is also a boat pond 200 feet away from it if people want to play with their boats as well.
Here are a few pics.

Those are actually old pics from the beginning stages.
We look forward to have a good racing season in 2010.

Looks like the perfect SC course. Lots of straight runs with lots of air.  8)
What's the lane width and track size?

Electric is so much better for sure that the gaz guys would cry tears all over their exhaust pipes.

Right now the biggest class is the 1/8 buggies. I own an 8ight E and the nitro guys dont mind.
Lanes are 10 feet wide. The oval track is close to 90 x 60, so this would make the off road track close to 105 feet by 60. Its a really fun track, not too hard on cars and its pretty fast(lap times below 30 sec).
Looking forward to the new season!

Joe you gave up on Nitro???  I'm going to run this season out with Nitro But I think Elec. is the way of the future. You guys should come see the track sometime soon...  We've now got track transponders, and working on our Drivers stand. This is definitely going to be a fun season..
As for the Elec and Nitro in the same class? The way I see it is Its no fun to run against only a few guys who have them.   Just means more work for the Nitro guys to keep up OR Create some sort of a handycap if Elec. is over dominating??  LMAO this coming from the Nitro guy...LOL
Anyone interested in a 2 day 2 track race or something along those lines?? One day our track next day yours??? Points added up after the 2 days to determine the winners??

OK here is our heads up....

We had some legal issues with the City of Cornwall this season. But I think we have Ironed them all out. Were going to have some odd rules this season that everyone who comes to visit/Race this season is going to have to follow, I'll fill everyone in on them later on... Nothing major, Very simple.

Our Papers are signed with the City, City has been Paid for the rental of the property, ROAR has insured our track, We almost ready to get on site and work on the track for this season. Our Club is Very Small. and on a very tight Budget!!   But with some help from fellow tracks and friends we'll get there...
We are in Need of a driver's stand!!  Anyone out there have Anything that would help to construct a platform for a drivers stand???
We are also in need of a Loop for the AMB Transponders...  We have the decoder and transponders, but missing the loop and cable to go under the track...
We are planning on running races every second Sunday. For the time being we will make due with what we have, We'll use Race day fee's to purchase the proper materials to build up the track better and better.. The Club is all NON Profit, Any profits made or donated to the club goes back into the Club!! I figure by next year or the year after we'll be up to snuff with all other tracks around..

Club Memberships are available @ 50$ each per year!! that allows access to the track ANYTIME!!!
Race Day fee's will be 10$ for the day..

We are just waiting for the go ahead from the City to get in to work on the track and try to get a Stand built for the drivers, aswel as repair some of the "Piping" around the track.

If Anyone has any materials or has leads on materials that possibly could be donated to the club please contact me. Once we are set to go I'll post race dates and times and more information on the rules of the Gate..

We are looking to Work with H2K this season...  We don't want to race on your race days and hopefully form some sort of Series between the 2 tracks...

Thanks for the help and patients with us...

Are there any updates on the Cornwall track?  Any races or practices scheduled?  Anyone using it at all yet?

Hi guys, sorry it took so long but we are finally ready to start racing. We built our driver stand and we got an AMBRC20 scoring system(downfall of this system is that it doesnt rear Personal Transponders)

We are having a race on August 1st.
Gates open at 8:30am,
Practice at 9am
Heats start at 10am followed by the Mains.

Since this is our first race we cant be certain on the amount of people that will show up. We will run classes accordingly.

Entry Fee is 10$ and this includes your transponder.
Here is the map.

Good Job Roch,

Again sorry for taking so long guys...   Finally we're getting somewhere with our track in Cornwall...   The track surface is VERY Hard.. and a little rocky in spots...  But beggars can't be choosers, When building a track with little funds.. We had fill brought in for free from a Local Excavation company to help us out... So we worked with what we had...   Our goal is to build some funds for next season and upgrade the track.. But every club needs to start someplace..  ;)....   Come on out on Aug 1st and I'll make sure to do my best to accommodate everyone...   Depending on who shows up that day we may need to mix classes to create heats...   Its a trial run for the club.. and we as a club will improve with every race we have...  Possibly setting up a series between H2K????????  Anyways.. I'm excited for our first race!!  Come on out and check it out....  Jamie Leroux  (CornwallRC)
